Department of Applied Chemistry
Karunya Institute of Technology and Sciences (Deemed-to-be University), Coimbatore – 641 114, Tamil Nadu, India

March 4-5, 2020 : Coimbatore, India.
Karunya Institute of Technology and Sciences (Deemed-to-be University),
Karunya Institute of Technology and Sciences (Declared as Deemed-to-be University under sec. 3 of the UGC Act, 1956 vide Notification No. 9-3-2000-U3 date. 23.6.2004 of the Govt. of India) is a fully residential institution founded by Late Dr. D.G.S. Dhinakaran and Dr. Paul Dhinakaran, internationally renowned evangelists, as per their divine vision and cherished desire to serve the cause of humanity through technical education and social service, which is located 25 Kms away from Coimbatore in the very bosom of Mother Nature. The University is surrounded by an array of green-clad, sky scraping mountains of the Western Ghats. The Siruvani river with its crystal clear water has its origin here and it is nature's boon to Coimbatore. The institution was established in 1986 on a sprawling campus of 700 acres near the foothills of Siruvani, Coimbatore. The University has excellent academic, research and extra-curricular facilities effectively utilized by well-qualified and dedicated faculty and over 8000 students. UG, PG and Ph.D. programs (recognized by UGC, Govt. of India and on par with the norms of AICTE) are offered in the fields of Engineering, Technology, Management, Sciences, Agriculture and Arts.
Chemistry Department was established in the year 2007 and from then the department has been engaged in imparting the highest level and quality of academic education. The department offers PG as well as research programs, M.Sc., M.Phil. and Ph.D. in Chemistry and courses (core as well as electives) for B.Tech programs and M.Sc. Nano science of the university. The department has excelled in teaching and research with a good strength of faculty, technical and lab staff. Research in the Department of Chemistry is a symbiosis of diverse areas of chemical sciences and technologies. The department is equipped with state-of-art instruments to do frontier research in chemical sciences including UV-VIS-NIR-DRS, FTIR, NMR, GC, HPLC-MASS, fluorescence spectrometer, electrochemical workstation and host other advance technological instruments. The PhD recipients of this department also different industries and distinguished laboratories in India as well as in abroad for post-doc and scientist positions.
